Shauna Anderson

Learning Advisor Specializing in High School Education

For 20 years, Shauna has served as a teaching administrator for a personalized learning public charter school in California. She loves supporting both families and educators on their learning journeys and is a passionate advocate for parent and student choice and autonomy in education.

Credentials: 
Shauna graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in English and holds a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, CLAD Certificate (Cross-cultural Language and Academic Development), and Single Subject High School English and Social Sciences Teaching Credential.
 
Outside the Classroom: 
Shauna and her husband homeschool their six kids in the greater Sacramento area and run Andersonia Vineyards, a small biodynamic vineyard in the Sierra Foothills, making boutique raw wine as a family. She also loves to sing and is a member of a jazz band and a hip-hop, funk, acid jazz band.

Lisa Jobe

Learning Advisor Specializing in Gifted Education

After beginning her career as an attorney, Lisa has spent the past 13 years homeschooling her own profoundly gifted children while actively teaching and serving as a gifted resource in her community. Lisa advocates for meeting the unique learning styles of each student and works with school administrators to meet the needs of gifted children and their families. 

Credentials: 
Lisa graduated from Case Western Reserve University summa cum laude with dual majors in Economics and Political Science. She earned her law degree at the George Washington University and practiced as a corporate employment attorney before becoming Associate General Counsel of a Fortune 500. Her career evolved as she focused on necessitating radical acceleration of learning for her gifted children and like peers.

Outside the Classroom: 
Lisa, her husband Greg, and their sons live outside Sacramento, CA. She serves on several community boards, including her son's charter school, Scouts, and youth ministry. She loves to travel, attend sports games, and curl up with a good book and her lapdog, Juan Diego.

Neil Marcaccio

Learning Advisor Specializing in K-8 Education

Neil is a school leader whose original path in marine science and research morphed into a career in education focused on meeting the needs of diverse learners. Through inner-city projects-based outreach work, he quickly realized that engaging alternative learners meant doing so on their terms.

Credentials: 
After obtaining a master's degree in education, Neil taught alternative learning programs in urban and suburban settings before receiving his Master's Degree in School Administration from Providence College. As a NISL EDP-trained school leader, Neil creates individualized, passion-centered learning opportunities outside of traditional models.

Neil is obsessed with the deeper learning competencies and mindset work around self-direction and fueling learner passion from the inside out. 

Outside the Classroom: 
Neil lives in Newport, RI with his wife and three children. The entire family has a love of the sea, and the children were even homeschooled while living aboard their sailboat. Neil's hobbies are freediving, sailboat racing and tinkering. Neil is an avid supporter of environmental stewardship and a board member at Save the Bay as well as the chair of its education committee.

A college math professor and career operations specialist, Janine is on a mission to dismantle the universal notion that individuals are only qualified to make valuable contributions to the world once they have earned a college degree.

Kelley Birch

Learning Advisor Specializing in Special Education

As a Special Education teacher, Kelley spent 20 years serving homeschooled students, 17 years with the California Department of Corrections Division of Juvenile Justice (formerly CYA), 8 years working in private school as an elementary teacher and Resource Specialist, and 3 years with the Department of Education as a Title I Program Reviewer/Consultant.

Credentials: 
Kelley has a California Multiple Subjects Credential/Supplemental Authorization in English, Specialist Instruction in Special Education - Learning Handicapped, CLAD certification, and Resource Specialist Certification. Her education includes a  Master's Degree in Special Education, a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, Education Emphasis, and a BS in Ministerial Studies.
